How the record works.
- Where do these rankings come from?
- Each model is asked the questions buyers actually ask, through its official API rather than its consumer app, with web search on. Every position traces back to a recorded answer, and the answer is kept. Read the methodology
- Which models are on the record?
- ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. Each is scored in its own column, so a brand can lead one model and be missing from another. Compare the models
- How current is the record?
- Categories are re-measured on a recurring schedule, and the most-asked categories refresh most often. Every position, score, and movement shown here is read against that category’s previous close. How measurement is scheduled
- Can a brand buy a better position?
- No. The record reports what the models said. There is no paid placement and no way to edit a result.
- What does GEO mean?
- Generative engine optimization: the work of getting named, and named early, when an AI model answers a buying question. SEO decides what a search page lists. GEO decides what the answer says. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), defined
- My brand is not here. Why?
- Because no model named it for that category’s questions. Absence is a measurement too, and it changes the moment a run picks the brand up.
